Last week I got a call from a lovely fellow whose daughter was getting married on Sunday at home in their garden. I was told it was mostly just documentary photography with few posed shots. Woodsy and Victoria have been together for a while and have three beautiful children. They live in Canberra in one of the older suburbs but will be off to China soon on an adventure. This wedding was a lovely intimate celebration of their family and love for each other, in the backyard! The colour and sunshine was beautiful as was the garden. They had Andrew Haskins from 3 Seeds fame creating food heaven in their kitchen and the very lovely Judy Aulich marrying them.
It wedding photography like this that makes me smile and makes me realise that my ‘job’ as a photographer is so much more than that; it is a lifestyle.
The words they said to each other and the stories in the ceremony we filled with honesty, laughter and love. It is moments like this that makes me feel hope for the future, in a world that can often test you. It is always a privilege to be responsible to photograph any family event; this one especially!
Thanks for having part of your day Victoria, Woodsy, Rory, Julian and Stella and Adrian, Audrey, Robyn and Pete.
xoxo
