I have photographed these little girls and their parents when they were just bubbas…Its amazing to see them all grown up in their pretty dresses and mum and dad looking great, too.

Its lovely to see my photography framed in their home and see how much they have grown!

Time flies! One minute their babes in arms, then school, then out into the world…

Every now and again, you have tough times with your kids, they play up and test your ability as a parent. Well that was what it was like for me before I had to photograph these two gorgeous children.

My son is back at school and we’ve had a full on week…testerone! He has brought me to tears and as a single parent its soooo hard without back up. Yes! Sorry this is personal, but you know what, that is what families and photographing families is all about. Its personal!

So as I write this post, my son is not speaking to me because he is “grounded” and not allowed to play with the neighbours’ kids and I am the bad mummy!

But going through these images made me smile and even laugh! I want to thanks them and their lovely mum for brightening my day, both when I was photographing them but now as I look at their gorgeous faces!!

OK I’m done better go and feed my son! <3<3

So the school holidays are over and whilst its fabulous having that time off and spending it with my son and family, it usually doesn’t mean I earn that much. However, it has been wonderful watching my son grow and I am amazed that he will be in year two this year. He was dressed and ready at 7.15 am today for his first day and itching to get there!

Thanks for all you lovely patient people who are either waiting to see the images from your portrait session or awaiting delivery of your prints.

I hope the holidays were as lovely for you as they were for Henry and I.

I have just made a little book about my wedding photography and posted on my main website. I don’t do as many weddings these days as I used to. I quite happily worked every weekend shooting weddings throughout the season, often as many as 50+ a year. That all changed when I had my son and even more so now he is a bit older ( 8 years old soon!) as I want to spend more time with him whilst he still wants to hang out with his mum! As a sole parent it can make what to do with my son difficult on the weekends so I am a bit choosy about when I work.

I am lucky though, as I have a very wonderfully supportive family here in Canberra and my neighbours and son’s school friends are a great help.

I certainly don’t miss shooting 50 weddings a year, one or two a month seems to work quite well so that I can spend a good amount of time and care planning the days’ shoot, creating the look and feel and the behind the scenes production afterwards. It all takes time and the right head space when creating, but I absolutely love it. Always have done! I LOVE the challenge or recording a moment in peoples lives!

Weddings are magical and the best bits for me are the “fly on the wall” stuff, when no-one is aware! I guess I am a frustrated social documentary photography and weddings are the cure!

It is a new year and this lovely family were my first!

It was a beautiful day, mum and dad were so welcoming and their daughter was full of beans, soooo cute! Little mister was on the move. I LOVE the room and the chaise lounge, it was like shooting in my own studio!

Thanks for having me guys! it was fabulous fun!

This lovely young woman was so fresh vibrant. Such a clear complexion and bright eyes and that is reflected in her attitude. It was a pleasure to meet you and your aunt who bought the voucher! Have a lovely exciting time in London!

I have had the pleasure to photograph this lovely family before when young Mstr was about 3, and now he’s the big brother. All full of beans. I absolutely love this little poppets dress, so English country rose! very sweet!

I met this wee ones mum about 10 years ago when I photographed her and her brother for their mum and dad…Now she has a gorgeous little man of her own…and he cracked me up…He could lift his whole body up so he looked like he was doing man sized push-ups. It was hilarious! Love ‘em when they are smilin’

It is truly amazing seeing little ones grow up and this little boy was so small last time I saw this lovely family!

This little guy is on the move…He is only about 9 months old but you couldn’t stop him…and what a sweetie!
You couldn’t mistake him for anything else other than a boy! Big sister was enthralled!

I am very lucky to be a part of his first few years and to see him and his cousin grow up.

When I am editing and processing the images all I do is smile out loud! Love my job!
