“ ‘Ere land and sea and the all-covering sky Were made, in the whole world the countenance Of nature was the same, all one, well named Chaos, a raw and undivided mass, Naught but a lifeless bulk, with warring seeds Of ill-joined elements compressed together” Publius Ovid 43BC-17AD
By combining Ovid’s poetry and my images I wanted to represent chaos and control. Here I illustrate the natural world’s struggle against a relentlessly growing human existence and our constant attempts to control chaos by building barriers.
