PHOTOWALK_Canberra is a chance for any person no matter what age or ability to get together and have a lovely walk, get some fresh air and meet other photographically minded people. It is meant to be all inclusive whether you own a DSLR, a compact or just a phone-cam.

I am hoping that this will be a seasonal walk; one photowalk per season so by the end of the year we will have a lovely collection of images to be proud of.

IT IS NOT A COMPETITION. It is just a way to meet other interesting people to learn a little bit and to have a picnic at the end.

Ownership of the images will be retained by you and I urge you to share this information and the Flickr group with family and friends.

It is often the case that no two photographers’ eye is exactly the same so even though we will be walking the same streets and paths I know we will have a great selection of images that will vary greatly.

This is also a way to show our bit of the world, seen by our eyes.

The first walk was on Saturday 19th November 2011
We walked from NPG over Kings Ave Bridge, past the National Carillion and to Regatta Point. It was hot and windy but everyone had a lovely time and it was great to meet other photographers who just do it ‘cos the love it!

So far we have quite a few lovely images you can look at on  PHOTOWALK-Canberra Flickr group   PLEASE NOTE the photowalk info in the group states February as next walk but it is SUNDAY THE 11TH MARCH FROM 3PM

The nest PHOTOWALK Canberra will be on SUNDAY THE 11TH MARCH FROM 3PM  in the afternoon from 3pm at a location to be decided…. any suggestions?

At the end of the year after the walks have been done I hope to have a book of images printed to give to the National Library of Australia and the ACT government as a record. Know any sponsors for that? then tell me!
