Every year I photograph the staff at the Cancer Council of the ACT. From memory I have been doing it since around 2002. I give my time and expertise to help this organisation once a year. It doesn’t take long and I enjoy seeing the wonderful staff every year.
I am sure that many of you reading this have sadly been had your lives touched by cancer. I have, and for me this is my small way of giving back. As a single parent with a young child I do not have much free cash so this is how I donate to help the organisation. It is a worthwhile and much needed. If you do have any free cash ( I realise it is tough these days!) and have wondered about where and who to give your charity dollar to, I can certainly recommend Cancer Council ACT.
“Cancer Council ACT is a non government Not-For-Profit community organisation that aims to promote a healthier community by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the ACT region. The Council depends largely on the generosity of the ACT and surrounding community providing donations and supporting fundraising initiatives.”
Here are some of the most recent staff portraits and below is a trip down memory lane from 2002.
…and of course this 2002 image was shot on film!
The Biggest Morning Tea is coming up in May (the day before my birthday! – don’t forget!) and there will be plenty of events around Canberra and Queanbeyan to go to…. Or just host one yourself!
