Every now and again I come across a family I really admire…
and this family is one of them.
I have photographed their very obvious love for each other, a few times now and it inspires me to think that one day I will have a wonderful man, partner in life who is willing to share experiences, including daily minutiae of life with me, and accept and be a positive part of my son’s life, too.
I feel completely relaxed photographing them and I think they feel the same way about having me be their photographer.
I thrive on this part of my photography. Photography of families for me isn’t about just producing a product, it is not a commodity or a package, it is about providing a record of this family in time, albeit creatively and with laughter.
I had to ask Renée and Shane prior to posting this image, just in case their son had issue with it. They didn’t and he didn’t. I am so glad as to me this says SOOOO much about their relationships.
Here is a lovely look at Renee and Shane in 2010!
It is always great to look and see how the kids have grown up, it always astounds me how fast it happens, even with my own son!
Here are Shane and Renee and the whole family in Yarralumla, Canberra in 2009 on my REALLY old blog! How things have changed!!
Anyway, here they are ‘today’…
